Salt & Light

The world can feel heavy sometimes. We see brokenness, uncertainty, and people who seem to have forgotten what kindness looks like. As Christians, we're called to be salt and light—the salt of the earth and the light of the world (Matthew 5:13–16)—to preserve what is good, bring hope where there is darkness, and reflect God's love in the way we live each day.

People occasionally ask if I write Christian fiction. The answer is no. I write sweet, not spicy, romantic suspense and mystery romance. Faith isn't the subject of my stories, but it is the foundation from which I write.

​

You'll find characters who are flawed, yet choose courage over fear, compassion over bitterness, and hope over despair. They make mistakes, stumble, and struggle, but they continue moving toward what is good.

​

I also believe that healing rarely happens in isolation. Throughout my stories, you'll often find loyal friendships, strong family bonds, small, unexpected acts of kindness, and faithful animals.

​

Animals, in particular, have a special way of reminding us of unconditional love, unwavering loyalty, and the quiet comfort that comes from simply not being alone.

​

As followers of Christ, we are called to do more than simply believe—we are called to live our faith. Although we often fall short, we are called to spread God's Word, lead by example, and offer support whenever we can.

​

Sometimes that means sharing the Gospel. Other times it means extending a simple gesture of kindness, offering a listening ear, speaking an encouraging word, or standing beside someone who feels forgotten. We may never know how God will use even our smallest acts of love to touch another person's heart.

​

Above all, we are here to glorify God, proclaim that Jesus Christ is King and the Son of God, and help expand His kingdom. Our greatest hope is to spend eternity in His presence, and one of heaven's greatest joys will be seeing those whose lives were touched by His love along the way. If we can point even one person toward Christ, then we have fulfilled a purpose far greater than ourselves.

My hope is that when you finish one of my books, you close it with more than the satisfaction of solving a mystery or watching a romance unfold. I hope you walk away believing that goodness still exists, that light shines brightest in the darkest places, and that no matter what life brings, we were never meant to walk through it alone.

If my stories leave you with a little more hope than when you started, inspire an act of kindness, remind you that light is always stronger than darkness, or encourage you to choose kindness over indifference, then every word I've written has been worth it.
